15 Months Old

Gradyn is 15 Months Old and already cruising around in his car looking for babes.  :)  This is actually at Menards in the car there, but he does have his very own little car now!  I just haven't taken any pictures of him in it yet.  Our time outside in the car basically consists of me chasing him all over and getting him out of the street.  He is obsessed with running in the street since he KNOWS we don't want him to!  He is such a little baby brat.  Anything he knows we don't want him to do he does with full force and laughs and laughs about it.  So, basically we have stopped telling him No because it usually backfires.  We just remove him from the situation or give him a distraction, which usually always works because he loves to play chase and chase people!  The good news is that we are having the other side of our backyard enclosed with a fence thanks to our next door neighbors, so very soon we will be able to trap him in the backyard.  It doesn't even work to put him in the backyard because he runs around the house to the front of the house to go to the street.  So naughty!

Anyway, he had his 15 month check up today.  Everything looks good and he is doing everything he should be at this age and MORE!  He is even catching up to his peers a little bit more!
These are his stats:
Weight:  22 lbs  (20th percentile)
Length:  30 inches (30th percentile)
Head:  19 inches (75th percentile)

He still has a big head, which of course means he has a big, smart brain!  :)

The doctor's visit did not go very well.  He FREAKED OUT as soon as he saw the nurse and when she came towards him to measure his head he screamed even louder and hit her away.  So, it did not get off to a great start and we knew we were in for a rough visit with the Dr.  He freaked out last time too, which he pretty much does for all strangers now, but not like this time.  As soon as the Dr. stepped in the room he started screaming and wanted up.  He clinged to my neck for dear life screaming and kicking.  So, the Dr. didn't get a very good look at him, but he tried!  Paul and I both had to hold him down to check under his diaper.  As soon as the Dr. took out a new instrument he would scream louder and hit it away or hit the Dr. or try to grab the instrument and throw it on the floor.  After all of this torture he still had to get 3 SHOTS!!
He did manage to stop crying and wailing for a second to blow the Dr. a kiss when he was assured he was going bye-bye.  :)
Next, the shots.  As totally expected, same thing happened.  The nurse even played around with him for awhile and had him laughing and having fun, but as soon as she stood up to get her kit he freaked out and this time I could barely pry his hands off from around my neck.  Paul and I both had to hold him down again, along with the nurse keep his legs down so she could get the needles in.  His legs may be little, but they are strong!!  He was VERY happy to kiss her bye-bye!

Other than the torture he endured at the Dr.'s office he is doing great!  Just got over an eye infection he had last week that he was on antibiotics for and looking much better.  He has gotten 2 new teeth recently, so now has a total of 6 on the top (including 2 molars) and 4 on the bottom.

He is starting to eat a little better, but is becoming a rather picky eater, surprise surprise.....we will probably take after his mother.  :)

We are gearing up for a summer of traveling.  We have pretty much stayed home the whole winter so Gradyn has definately not been in travel mode or having to get used to new places like he was at one time.  So, we will see how he does now that he is older.  He is usually a great traveler, so hopefully this continues.  Especially now that he can watch his Baby Genius DVD that he is obsessed with and asks for every time we get in the car now.......which is NOT what we had planned on letting him do.  But, of course on our 5 hour trips we will use it as much as needed!  I think we will pretty much be traveling every weekend besides 2 until August.  Yikes!

Weekend in Kearney

We went to Kearney this weekend to meet up with Paul's parents, Ron and Doris.  We had fun playing at the park, swimming at the hotel pool (and by swimming I mean trying to keep Gradyn from running all over the floor around the pool and slipping and falling....), going out to eat, shopping, and hanging out.  Here are some pictures of our fun weekend.  It was nice to get out of town for the weekend, but still not travel very far.  We definately enjoyed the short drive home!  We have been staying home a lot this winter, and for those of you who know us well know that we usually are never home.  BUT, get this, we figured out that we have not been to Lincoln since New Years!!  Can you believe it???  We are not planning on going back to Lincoln until May 7th either, so it will be over 4 months!  I think that is probably the longest I have gone without going to Lincoln in my whole life!  It's weird.  We do have quite a bit of traveling planned for this summer, so it is nice that we have stayed home most of the winter/spring.

Here are the weekend in Kearney pictures, although they aren't that exciting.  Mostly just pictures of Gradyn playing.  Although I love the one of him swinging with Grandpa Ron.  Check out Grady's cute smile with his eyes shut.  :)

It's Baseball Season!

Opening Day of baseball was last week!  This is very good news for Paul who lives his life for the Royals.....well, besides Husker football.  That may be a little bit of an exageration, but not much....  :)
Paul always takes off of work for the Royals opening game and his tradition is to get a sub sandwhich to eat while he watches it.  This year happened to be a day that I had off of school too so Grady and I were there too and we could all experience opening day as a family.  :)  The above picture is of the 2 boys watching the Royals together.  The Royals ended up losing to the Tigers.
I even made KC cakes for the occasion!

My BFF

I just wanted to dedicate a blog post to Becky for explaining to me how to run my blog more efficiently and post pictures in a MUCH easier way!!! My blog will never be the same!!! Thanks Rebecky!

Our Easter

Okay, here are our pictures from Easter! They are in backwards order so you will have to progress with them in the wrong order, but that is the way blogger uploads and I can never remember the right way to do it!! It's annoying. Anyway, we had a good Easter with family and friends! We went to Hebron/Ruskin/Fairbury the weekend before Easter (Palm Sunday) and stayed with Dan in Hebron on Saturday night and then went to church in Ruskin on Sunday. From there we headed to Fairbury for lunch at my Grandma Marlene's with my Dad, Zoya, and Irina. My sister, Ashley, was also there for all of this.
Then, on Easter weekend we had family come to NP. My Aunt Shari, Aunt Lori & Uncle Scott, Cousin Josh, Megan, & Madison, and my sister. The Deaver family came over for Easter lunch. We had a great time! Saturday we just hung out, played outside, grilled steaks, watched Gradyn and Madison open Easter baskets, and chatted. Sunday we all went to church, made lunch, watched Madison and Gradyn open MORE Easter baskets, and played outside and chatted some more!

Gradyn ended up getting 4 Easter Baskets! He was a little spoiled!! Not including the one he got from Doreen at daycare!

So, in backwards fashion.....the Pictures from the Easter Festivities!

Jackson trying to eat while Gradyn and Patrick are eating off of his tray! The dangers of eating low to the ground!!

Madison made it up to the top of the slide! She finally got time to play on it between all of those boys!!

Gradyn loves his new book "Old McDonald" Thanks Aunt Shari! It HAS to be sung to him or he knows that isn't right!!

Attempting to get a picture of Gradyn and Madison together is pretty much impossible!

My precious little boy!

Hey! Footballs don't go in here!

Dominic and his new water gun!

Madison and one of her Easter baskets!

As you will see from some of the pictures below, Gradyn was NOT happy for much of Easter morning. He missed his morning nap due to being at church and then with all of the commotion at home with all the people there he would not sleep after church. So, I was not able to get a very good picture of him in his Easter outfit. AND, we forgot to get Madison and Gradyn together in their Easter outfits for a picture! Not that we would have been able to get a good one anyway..... We'll have to remember next year!

Paul with Jackson and Patrick Deaver, hanging out on Easter afternoon!

Aunt Ashley showing Gradyn his "swimming/summer" Easter basket she got him. As you can see from the pictures below, he is not a big fan...yet!

Madison loves Beef Jerky, so Paul thought she needed some in her Easter basket from us!
Gradyn has never tried it, but I think he would be a little frustrated with it....

Megan, Madison, Ashley, Josh, me, Gradyn, Paul. We celebrated Josh's 25th birthday early!

Pretty Madison in her Easter dress!

Great Aunt Shari reading a bedtime story!
