The Birthday Weekend Girl!!

It has arrived. The 1st Birthday party weekend is here! Time to party!! Doesn't she look ready??? :) She's all ready for her first official Bday party at Kellan's!

Brynlee's cake prep

The kids both 'helped' make the cake for Brynlee's party at daycare!
Super fun! Our version of a pink ladybug! :)

Baseball game

We took the kids to their first Husker baseball game the other night! Super fun and super awesome weather to sit at the ballpark!

Spring Fun!

The kids and I spent part of an afternoon out at Pioneers Park. We walked through the nature center thing (bad idea for my allergies, very bad) and then went to find some ducks and geese to feed!
After that we met Paul at our friends Tyler and Anslee's for a BBQ and to play with Harper and another family! Great day!!

Little Helper

Grady has always loved to 'help' Paul with the mowing but this year he was super pumped! He didn't even want to eat a snack after nap, which is SO not like him! He ran right outside and took his mower right beside Paul and stayed with him the whole time.
But seriously, mowing in March??? Me and my allergies are SOOO OVER plants and flowers and trees and grass!!!! Really, who needs them?? :)

Finally walking!

Brynlee has finally started walking like a normal person! Last week, can't even remember what day, she started walking across the room without dropping to walk on her knees and now she is totally walking on her feet all the time! She will still drop to her knees and walk that way occasionally, especially if she happens to be in the middle of a room and doesn't have a way to stand herself up very well. She is so fast already! She will run after other kids, try to get you to chase her, and follow us everywhere! It is great that she has this newfound independence because I was starting to get worried about all of her knee walking and the effect it might have on her legs longterm.

Next up: Her First Birthday!!! We have 3 parties in a row planned, so we should be all partied out by Sunday night! Friday is her party at daycare, Saturday we are having a little party at my Aunt's house, and Sunday is her big party at our house with all the family! Can't wait to celebrate with our little ladybug! :)

P.S. The pics are a sneak peak of her 1 year pictures we had done last weekend!!  Can't wait to see the rest!

Trip to NP

We had a fun little weekend trip out to North Platte last weekend.  It was so great to see friends, go to one of Grady's favorite places (Cody Park), go to a baby shower, go to mass at St. E's new church, and eat at our favorite place!  :)  The above pic is at lunch on our way to NP.  Grady ate his first ice cream cone all by himself.  He was so excited and loved it!  He isn't usually a big ice cream eater, and we sort of know why.  Let's just say it didn't agree with him very well the rest of the day/night....
We also had to get a pic of Brynlee eating her lunch!

Brynlee had such good baby sitters during the baby shower!  Addilyn, Annah, & Maci all wanted to take turns holding her.  Addilyn also did such a good job during dinner that night of keeping Bryns fed on puffs and entertaining her!

This picture is just funny because Grady always calls the American flag 'his' flag.  He is really funny about flags and totally categorizes them with the places he has seen them.  The Husker flag is 'Ashley's flag b/c she likes Huskers.  The Jayhawk (Kansas) flag is Joey's flag b/c he wears a Kansas shirt sometimes.  (Which is funny since Mike is the one at KU...)  The American flag is also the church flag because he has seen it outside of some churches.  He was super pumped to see this huge American flag outside of our hotel window, he kept yelling, "It's my flag mommy!".  :)

Sweet Little Bryns was SO excited that she snuck down to her backpack and pulled out her puffs!  I caught her in the act!

Group Event

It takes two of them to watch the potty and/or poopy get flushed down the toilet. As soon as Bryns sees Grady heading into the bathroom she makes a beeline for it. He has gotten pretty good at keeping her away from it and is overjoyed that she wants to share in the experience with him! :)

Bath animals

The kids got these cute little bath animal sponges from my Aunt Lori and Uncle Scott as a souvenir from South Africa. They are little capsules that turn into animals after they get wet. They gave us quite the excitement and entertainment during bath time this morning!! :)

Curls!

I am loving how Brynlee's hair gets such cute curls when it is wet!! It pretty much goes straight after it dries. It's getting so long! Just in time to be annoying in hot weather... :) hopefully she will keep her ponies and piggies in for longer periods of time...
