Helping Daddy

We had some more snow this weekend and Grady loved being outside helping Daddy shovel the driveway. He ran around and experimented in the snow for a long time. He loved trying to climb up the big drifts and piles that Daddy was making! He was finally ready to go inside after he fell face first into the snow!

Helping Mommy

Gradyn loves to help me get ready every morning. I sit on the living room floor to put my make-up on and dry my hair and he usually wakes up right about the time I am ready to do this. His favorite thing to do is take everything out of my make-up bag and then carry it all over the house. My mascara went missing for a few days one time! And, he usually always puts 1 things in his mouth (the mascara or lip gloss) and then carries 2 or 3 other things around. I tried really hard to get a picture of him like this one day, but as soon as he saw the camera he dropped them all and wanted the camera. But, I did get him with the lip gloss in his mouth, as you will see below.
Also, his other new thing to do is put things in the trash can. He took my headband from the bathroom one day and when I went out to see what he was doing he was caught putting it in the trash can!! I did catch this one on camera!

What we've been up to...

This is a little glimpse of what we've been up to lately. Gradyn has been walking/running up a storm and is so much happier now that he is mobile! His new favorite thing is to put things in the trash can. We have lost many things that we are pretty sure got put into the trash. We are currently looking into a new method of trash disposal.... :)

In other Gradyn news: he is cutting a molar on the top and 2 other teeth at the same time, so that has been a pain lately. He is starting to become very vocal and associates lots of items with words now. It is so excited to see him being able to communicate! He just recently knows how to kiss when you tell him to give you a kiss he sticks forehead to yours and opens his mouth to kiss. It's so cute! It goes along nicely with his constant hugging that everyone loves!! Especially the kids at daycare. They line up every morning to give him hugs when he gets there!
Among his favorite words are: milk, more, mama, dada, moo(for a cow), bye, and he will imitate thank you pretty well. He doesn't say all of these words every time, but they are the ones he can for sure say at the appropriate time. His favorite is MILK, which should make his Grandpa Ron proud. He will go find his milk if you tell him to go get it and if you ask him if he wants it he will start crying and head to the refrigerator. It's so funny!

Anyway, these pictures show a few things we have been up to lately. I really need to keep the camera out more often. It seems like I haven't been taking many pictures lately! I'll fix that!

Valentine's Day Fun

Gradyn had a good first Valentine's Day. We didn't really do much that day except go to church, go out for lunch, take naps, and then get a heart shape pizza. It was filled with a lot of love!
He also took cookies to daycare with everyone's initial on them and some fruit snacks for his Valentine's for the kids. He received many awesome valentine's in the mail, which were really fun to open! His personal (and his mom's) favorite is a set of McDonald's certificates from Paul's cousin Eric! We are sooo excited to use them! :)

We have a WALKER!!!

It occurred to me that I might not have mentioned in my previous posts that Grady is WALKING now! He pretty much started walking on his own consistently 4 days after his birthday. And, of course it was right after all of our family left from his birthday party weekend. So, nobody got to see it except for us, but it was awesome! He all of a sudden decided he wants to walk everywhere and now there is NO stopping him! I find things drug all over the house that he picks up and carries all over. The most popular items are: my hair dryer, the remotes, my cell phone, his birthday balloons, candles (that are too heavy for him), and everything he can pull out of his drawer in the bathroom.

We also had a rude awakening in church this morning now that we have a walker. And, not only do we have a walker, we have a walker with an attitude. Most people who know Grady know he is very dramatic and when he is excited he gets VERY excited and freaks out squealing, laughing, and now running. But, when he is mad, he gets mad at the snap of a finger and his temper flares. Which, yes he gets his temper from his dad and his excitedness from his mom! :)
Anyway, when he doesn't get to walk around like he wants to in church he throws one of his tantrums, arches his back so he falls on the ground and screams. Paul and I both took him out of church and spent time chasing him around. It's going to be quite the adventure in the coming weeks! We are already planning on sitting in the nursery room, which at our church, has a pew and a window to look into the church. This might be our permanent pew for the next year or so....

The Birthday Party Pictures

These are some pictures of the big Birthday Party! I still have quite a few to get from my sister and other people who took way more than I did, but this gives you an idea! Gradyn went crazy for his cake and ended up destroying the whole baseball and yelling with excitement about it! He would throw his arms up in the air because he was so excited for it! I don't think he really liked the taste, it was mostly about the destruction. He is pretty much all about destruction.....

Obviously, doesn't really work to get a good pic of all 5 together!

Some of the decorations! And, of course we had peanuts & cracker jacks. And popcorn!

Such a great day! 30+ people came to celebrate with us! Can't wait to do it again next year! I'll be taking suggestions for themes for next year! :) I think we all know how much I love to throw a good party! Paul has already warned me that I can't go overboard for the super bowl....hmm.....I wonder if I can handle that!
More pics to come as soon as I get people to give them to me!
P.S. those of you who have pictures of the party, please email them to me!! :)

Birthday Pictures!

These are pictures of Gradyn's actual birthday, January 27th. He got to open a present in the morning before going to daycare (a puzzle). And then he took a group picture with the kids at daycare and Doreen. The balloon is from Doreen and he Loved it!
