6 Months Old!

Gradyn is 6 months old today and we went to his 6 month well-baby check this morning. He weighed 15 pounds and was 24.5 inches long. That puts him in the 5th percentile for both. His head was in the 25th percentile. So, he is still really small for his age.

We only had one problem. Grady's leg muscles are a little tight. The doctor worried that this was a symptom of the brain hemorrhage he had at birth. He will get evaluated and begin physical therapy next week. The plan is for this to loosen up his muscles and have no problems from here on out. Hopefully, things go according to plan. :)

Grady met every developmental milestone for a 6 month old, both mental and physical. He was really charming the doctor and nurse. That is, until they gave him his immunizations. It took him a while to calm down after that.

We will start him on vegetables next week. That should make his Aunt Ashley the dietitian very proud.

He is going to spend the week with his cousins and godparents Andy and Cassie. Hopefully, Isaac doesn't teach him how to get into too much trouble.

Bye for now,
P,K, & Baby G

NICU, Laughing at Puppy, Jumperoo Videos

Here are a few videos of Grady that we have taken so far. I need to remember to get out the video camera more to shoot more videos of him because they are so fun to watch!

This one is from when he was in the NICU in Omaha. I think this was one of the first times he could drink from the bottle and not the feeding tube. It is hard to remember when he was that small!

We had lunch with our friends Tyler and Anslee in Lincoln and Gradyn LOVED one of their dogs. He was laughing so much! Of course, I didn't get the really good giggles on video, but hopefully you can hear a little bit.

He loves to bounce and jump all of the time! Here he is jumping in the Jumperoo, which is still too big for him, but he loves it anyway! :)

Finally going home from the hospital. He was in the NICU for 23 days after he was born. He went home on his original due date, February 23rd. We can't believe how small he used to be! Look how his feet don't even go past the buckle on his carseat!

A Long Time Coming!

I have been wanting to set up a blog for about 6 months now. I actually started one the day Gradyn was born! I had been put on bed-rest until he was born so that morning I decided that a blog would be a good thing for me to do while I was laying around waiting for the baby. However, I went to my doctor appointment that day (January 27) and found out we were heading to the hospital! It has been a whirlwind ever since! I am hoping that things will begin to settle down a bit more for us now and I can actually try to keep the blog up! Hope you enjoy it! I have always thought this would be a great way to stay in touch with family and friends who we live so far away from. My goal is to post about once a week about what we have been up to and the cool new things that Gradyn is doing.

I am going to try to post a few pictures of Gradyn's first 6 months so you can see a little photo journal of the first 6 months of his life that I have not been able to blog about. He will be 6 months old on July 27. It is hard to believe that it has already been half of a year since he was born. He is now smiling and laughing all the time, eating oatmeal, rolling all over, and putting everything he can reach into his mouth! He is very active and always has to be standing up and jumping or bouncing. I am pretty sure his first tooth is coming in, and on the top instead of the bottom. So, we are starting to get into the teething thing!

Hope everyone is having a great weekend! I am going to try my hardest to keep this blog up to date so keep checking back!
