15 Months Old

Gradyn is 15 Months Old and already cruising around in his car looking for babes.  :)  This is actually at Menards in the car there, but he does have his very own little car now!  I just haven't taken any pictures of him in it yet.  Our time outside in the car basically consists of me chasing him all over and getting him out of the street.  He is obsessed with running in the street since he KNOWS we don't want him to!  He is such a little baby brat.  Anything he knows we don't want him to do he does with full force and laughs and laughs about it.  So, basically we have stopped telling him No because it usually backfires.  We just remove him from the situation or give him a distraction, which usually always works because he loves to play chase and chase people!  The good news is that we are having the other side of our backyard enclosed with a fence thanks to our next door neighbors, so very soon we will be able to trap him in the backyard.  It doesn't even work to put him in the backyard because he runs around the house to the front of the house to go to the street.  So naughty!

Anyway, he had his 15 month check up today.  Everything looks good and he is doing everything he should be at this age and MORE!  He is even catching up to his peers a little bit more!
These are his stats:
Weight:  22 lbs  (20th percentile)
Length:  30 inches (30th percentile)
Head:  19 inches (75th percentile)

He still has a big head, which of course means he has a big, smart brain!  :)

The doctor's visit did not go very well.  He FREAKED OUT as soon as he saw the nurse and when she came towards him to measure his head he screamed even louder and hit her away.  So, it did not get off to a great start and we knew we were in for a rough visit with the Dr.  He freaked out last time too, which he pretty much does for all strangers now, but not like this time.  As soon as the Dr. stepped in the room he started screaming and wanted up.  He clinged to my neck for dear life screaming and kicking.  So, the Dr. didn't get a very good look at him, but he tried!  Paul and I both had to hold him down to check under his diaper.  As soon as the Dr. took out a new instrument he would scream louder and hit it away or hit the Dr. or try to grab the instrument and throw it on the floor.  After all of this torture he still had to get 3 SHOTS!!
He did manage to stop crying and wailing for a second to blow the Dr. a kiss when he was assured he was going bye-bye.  :)
Next, the shots.  As totally expected, same thing happened.  The nurse even played around with him for awhile and had him laughing and having fun, but as soon as she stood up to get her kit he freaked out and this time I could barely pry his hands off from around my neck.  Paul and I both had to hold him down again, along with the nurse keep his legs down so she could get the needles in.  His legs may be little, but they are strong!!  He was VERY happy to kiss her bye-bye!

Other than the torture he endured at the Dr.'s office he is doing great!  Just got over an eye infection he had last week that he was on antibiotics for and looking much better.  He has gotten 2 new teeth recently, so now has a total of 6 on the top (including 2 molars) and 4 on the bottom.

He is starting to eat a little better, but is becoming a rather picky eater, surprise surprise.....we will probably take after his mother.  :)

We are gearing up for a summer of traveling.  We have pretty much stayed home the whole winter so Gradyn has definately not been in travel mode or having to get used to new places like he was at one time.  So, we will see how he does now that he is older.  He is usually a great traveler, so hopefully this continues.  Especially now that he can watch his Baby Genius DVD that he is obsessed with and asks for every time we get in the car now.......which is NOT what we had planned on letting him do.  But, of course on our 5 hour trips we will use it as much as needed!  I think we will pretty much be traveling every weekend besides 2 until August.  Yikes!
