Too bad Gradyn is EXTRA crabby this Valentine's Day and the whole weekend before! I'm sure he is testing our "LOVE" for him and has found out that we love him so much no matter how obnoxious he is. We are hoping it is only because he seems to be getting another 2 year molar. He was in the process of getting 1 and now it looks like there is another one poking through. That better be what it is and not his "new" personality....
We left 3 places this weekend while he was throwing a kicking/screaming tantrum because he didn't want to leave. One was at Wal-mart because he didn't want to leave the game room, which has happened a lot in the past and actually every time we have left Wal-mart recently. He actually tries to run away while we are on the other side of the store to get to that game room because he knows it is there! We pretty much always leave with Paul throwing him over his shoulder and kicking and screaming the whole way out.
Then I thought it would be fun to take him swimming yesterday at the Rec Center, which he was SO excited for! I wasn't sure if he would even remember what swimming is because we haven't been to the pool since summer but he was so excited and kept yelling "swimming" and talking about it the whole way there. He was very hesitant at first, I think because it had been so long and there were a TON of kids there, but by the end he was his old "fish" self.
BUT, he realized there is a slide at the pool. It is a huge tornado water slide for big kids. So, of course he really wanted to go down the slide. He threw a couple fits while we were swimming because he wanted to run over to it but we would always distract him. We thought he had forgotten about it and at the end he even said, "I go home" when he was ready to go home so we got out and got ready to leave. Well, apparently he remembered. We drug him out of there screaming hysterically, kicking, refusing to let us put his shirt on, yelling the whole way to the car. Fought with everything he had not to get in his carseat. Then he did his new thing of trying to make himself throw up to manipulate us.... He didn't end up throwing up, just screaming hysterically, yelling "Slide!" the entire way home. Which, luckily is only about 7 blocks.
It is so hard to take him to places that he likes because he does not want to leave them! He is SUCH a drama KING!
We were hoping a really good night sleep last night would help him but not so much. The 20 minutes he was actually up this morning before he left for daycare were terrible. He literally throws a hysterical fit for things that he would normally just ask for nicely, especially in the mornings when he is at his best. Doreen might have a LONG day at daycare!
Let's all pray he is back to his "LOVEY" self in no time!
