Our Christmas Eve

This is what our Christmas Even looked like…in pictures.  Smile

We started off with a fun breakfast at Village Inn with some of my family.  Then went back to my Aunt Lori’s to open a few presents and have Madison open hers from the party she missed over the weekend.

Then we went home for naps, which had to be perfectly timed so we could hit 4:00 Mass in Lincoln before we left for Paul’s family.  The plan was working perfectly.  We had everything packed up, Paul and I were ready, Brynlee was awake and ready, all by 3:15.  Since Grady was still sleeping our plan was to just pick him up and put him right in the car and get him dressed when we got to church.  We didn’t want to disturb the beast and fight him screaming for 20 minutes to get out the door.  Well, this plan backfired when I went to get him to go to the car and he had wet his pants.  Which, is not that uncommon when he didn’t have much sleep the night before OR a nap the day before.  He was sleeping so hard.  But he NEVER wets his pants during nap, or really even at night, so it was annoying to deal with.  And, of course all of his blankets were soaked thru so we had to deal with that also since we were leaving to be gone for 4 days. Okay, all of that was dealt with and we were in the car leaving for Mass at 3:30.  Which, wasn’t too early since we were going to Martyrs, across town, and it was going to be a PACKED service…

The Mass was beautiful!  Church was decorated beautiful.  It was great for kids! We ended up on folding chairs in the very front row, which I was thankful for, so the kids could see everything going on and we didn’t have to stand, like many people in the back.

After Mass we ran thru McDonald’s (I know, nice Christmas Eve meal…) to get a little something for the kids since it would be a 2 hour drive until we ate something at Paul’s Gma and Gpa’s house in Beemer.  About 5-10 miles out of Lincoln Grady started acting weird and telling us he wanted to go back home.  He said, “But, what about if I have to throw up? We need to go back home in case I throw up.”

Yep, he started throwing up all over himself.  We had the foresight to bring a bowl along because he had thrown up 3 times the previous day, all weird type of things.  And, he throws up a lot, so nothing different really.  Smile

He was fine after he threw up, started eating his McDonald’s again and talked the entire way there like nothing had happened.  Of course, it was freezing cold when we stopped on the side of the road to clean him up and the car up, so that was not fun.  And, he then wore his elf pajamas to the Christmas Eve party all night.

Therefore, we never got a picture of all of us dressed up in our Christmas clothes, that were of course all strategically planned out in a specific color scheme and went together so well.  At least we got Bryns screaming in her coat and you can see part of her dress…!  haha!

*Grady didn’t throw up again, but he did have lots of diarrhea issues on Christmas Day, which was also NOT fun to deal with at Paul’s Aunt’s house.  He obviously had some bug working its way thru him, but you couldn’t tell at all by how he was acting, just what was coming out of him!  Smile

*Brynlee woke up on Christmas morning with throw up all over her, so she had obviously threw up during the night.  But, in true Brynlee fashion, didn’t let any of us know.  Smile  She seemed fine the rest of the day.  BUT, on the day after Christmas the diarrhea bug hit her while I was shopping in Omaha with her.  She didn’t really act different either, just had bad stuff coming out of her. But, luckily for me, she is already in diapers so we didn’t have any clothes changes!  Just annoying to have it happen while we were shopping and had to find public bathrooms to use.
